DIY Pom Pom Balls

I found a picture of this on Pinterest and just had to try it. It seemed like the perfect inexpensive DIY home decoration, and it was!

First you wind the yarn of your choice around your hand (don't wind it so tight that you can't get it off your hand though) about 120 times, you can do more or less to get the thickness you want.

Tie a string around the middle of your bunch of yarn (tie it tight) and then cut all the loops that are formed.

Once you cut all the loops, you'll get a scraggly, yet recognizable pom pom.
Trim the edges until you have a recognizable pom pom.
And my lovely husband found these branches for me while on a walk. You will want them to be fairly sturdy and varying in heights.
All I did was slide the stick into the pom pom and voila!
I had a leftover vase with pebbles in it from my wedding reception that I used. You can use any bottle or vase you want. You don't have to use a filler at the bottom, but in this case I thought the pebbles added.

And here it sits on my shelf above the toilet. It was super easy, quick and adds some style without taking up a lot of space!
